Stephanie a tattoo artist at Dragon FX in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Tattooed a “Black Light” U.V. ink star using Chameleon Brand U.V. Ink on April a regular of the rave scene. April wanted to have the stars done on both legs eventually to attract attention during her intense dance routine while raving.

Brittany Jasper went in to see Lane Jensen to have him implant a “Micro Dermal Anchor” into her tragus. While doing the procedure Tayla and Lane Jensen noticed that she had naturally pointed “Elf” ears. Unlike the surgically altered pointed ear procedures that Brian has done in the past.

Not that I anticipate ModBlog winning because (and maybe I’m kidding myself) it’s just too weird for the mundanes, but it looks like we just got nominated (thanks!) for our first bloggy award. I guess if enough readers actually nominated ModBlog it could win, but I seriously do wonder if we’d be silently nixxed behind the scenes…
Note: I actually would be very happy if people voted for ModBlog, but please vote in legitimately if you do (ie. make real votes in other categories too).

I think that capo3433’s Boltzmann equation tattoo is the geekiest tattoo I’ve posted in quite a long time (I’m assuming he understands it, but he says he’s not very good at math!). It’s done by Kimsu at Body Graphics in NJ. If you’re wondering, s = k log w is a measure of entropy in this case.

Pooner has some really amazing horror themed tattoos (check out his page if you’re an IAM member), including this zombie by Big Al at Smokin’ Guns in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

This piercing toy was made by Piercer Snoopy (you may remember the suspension toy he also made)… See also this long tongue and other ones.

I got an email recently about an art project by Laura Splan (a very interesting medical/body fine artist) that I thought was worth sharing here. This piece is a scarf knitted from surgical tubing, which is colored with — and I suppose alive to due to — the wearer’s own blood.

Piercer Snoopy from Mix Tattoo in Sao Paulo, Brasil sends in this suspension toy. I think it’s a one off but I’m not sure.

Speaking of cool modified people doing cool things, Rachel Larratt (as in the person who runs the business side of BME, as well as her own enterprises), is racing in this year’s La Carrera Panamericana, a 3000 km race across Mexico. She’s down there right now blogging the race (as well as plotting to dominate the first year of the Unlimited Class in her Lotus Elise) at www.mil0.com/blog — the sharp eyed will spot Coop and others you may know in her race/rally diary.

Since there are so many sites stealing ModBlog’s RSS feed and reposting it as if it’s their own writing and images (it’s fine if you want to use the RSS feed in a reader, it’s just not OK to download this site and republish it elsewhere), rather than those of the BME community, let me do my injection of reminder that the URL for this site is:
http://modblog.bmezine.com/
If you don’t see BMEZINE.COM somewhere in URL, you’re reading this on a site that steals its content). Anyway, sorry about the interruption. Click the link if you’re on the wrong URL, otherwise the fun continues below.

This heat wave (among other things) has blown the power supply in my main laptop that has all of my BME and ModBlog stuff on it (don’t worry, I’ve condfirmed everything is safe). I’ll replace it tomorrow morning in some way, but until then I’m basically offline… Thus I apologize for the lack of the promised BME and ModBlog updates!

What happens in Niagara Falls, stays in Niagara Falls. Unless of course it ends up on ModBlog. Thanks to PoisonousPennington for the shots. Oh, and as a point of trivia, Phil wanted me to point out that’s his (former) first-generation (and very, very, very rare) Team BME hockey jersey.

Did my friend Emilio get married in Las Vegas? Now I really wish I’d made it! Anyway, if so congratulations, and if not, well, you got me! Left photo by Mute-One, right by Steve.
And normally I’d stay “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”, but since I’m the official leak for the APP, here’s my PS. Yeah, I know who you are even in that fancy getup.

Wow, sorry I had to take a few days off from posting here on ModBlog. Jon and I have stayed up until six in the morning (or later) every night since I last posted working on the system, and about two hundred other editors have been putting in serious time as well…. If you’d like to take a preview look (it’ll go “official” tomorrow), here’s the URL:
wiki.bmezine.com
Anyway, today I’m posting a ton of entries for you as a thank you for your patience!
Good night all!

Folks, this is why you shouldn’t buy cheap crap jewelry. I’m thinking about posting who made this but I haven’t decided yet whether I want the legal fight. But I will tell you that this jewelry was not removed from a human — it was in storage for a few months in a drawer for a few months in its original packaging… Think what would have happened if it had been in, say, a tongue for a few months!
Good jewelry is expensive because the materials being used are high quality. Do you really want to skimp on this? Maybe this helps illustrate why a good barbell doesn’t cost $2.99.

I’m not fully online right now (couch-surfing for a few days at least) so until that’s over my posting here may be slightly sporadic… but I’ll try and post bigger sets to compensate. I’m looking at a few very nice spaces for me and the BME “offices” in Toronto that hopefully will start no later than February first. Anyway, enjoy today’s updates!
