I’m really liking Trystan’s new blackwork neck tattoo with gray flowers, done pretty quickly over about two and a half hours by Paul Wren at Th-inker Tattoo in Melbourne, Florida.

Niknak recently had her already extensive work by Dan DiMattia of Calypso Tattoo in Liege, Belgium. This latest session is about ten hours of work, and you can see lots more pictures on her IAM page.

This tattoo is nuts! If you look at just one small section of it, it’s just boring neotribal that’s been done a zillion times, but as a full body suit, it’s pretty wild looking! It looks like a fabric print I think… (I’ve seen closeup photos by the way, so it’s definitely real if you’re suspicious).

This piece (which reminds me of Dan DiMattia’s style of course, as well as Vincent Hocquet’s) was done by Pierrot at Arte Corpus in Marseille, France. Continue reading for an earlier photo.

I’ve posted another interview with another Belgium neo-tribal/geometric artist (a la Dan), this time Vincent Hoquet of Beautiful Freak Tattoo (check out his BME gallery at that link) who’s been featured here a few times. Click through for the interview, and come back to comment.

In order to get you nice and relaxed for the extremely depraved tattoo I am about to post, a nice photo of some tribal blackwork done at 21st Century Body Art in York, UK.
Also, before I give up on the project, I’ll ask a quick Javascript question — is there any way to have Javascript read the HTTP username (as in the username being used to authenticate a .htaccess account)? I don’t think there is but I figured it couldn’t hurt to ask. If you know how to do this (or know decisively that there isn’t a way), please email me at snowrail@gmail.com (don’t post it here). I’ll delete this note when I am sure of the answer.

Dustin says, “Circle-slash tribal club… I wear this badge proudly.” Tattoo by Alie at The Shaman’s Den in Binghamton, NY, who I suspect has done an awful lot more of these tattoos, but without the circle-slash.

People said they liked Morgan’s tattoos that were featured yesterday, so I wanted to post another half-sleeve of blackwork that I quite like, this one on Theo by Dave at Bunker Tattoo in Breda, The Netherlands.

I’m definitely liking the stripes that run across SilentWes’s hand, tattooed by Jim at Inkaholics in Moreno Valley Kim Dunham from Brewery Ink in Los Angeles. It looks like it’s been difficult to keep in at the fingertips, but that’s to be expected.

My old friend Trash, who tattoos in Campinas, SP, Brasil, is working on this great geometric leg sleeve inspired by Brazilian indigenous tribal designs.

This great dotwork tattoo was poked by Eric at Kunst Med Puls in Oslo, Norway. I really love how dotwork has taken off in the last year… I posted a lot of amazing pieces to BodyTwo and hopefully soon we’ll get all that content moved over here.

Procedural photos continue after the break.
Abacrombie sent in these shots of a truly old-school tattoo experience at the home of Petelo Sula’Ape, a tattoo artist from Faleasiu, Samoa. The tattoo was done over about eight painful hours of tattooing in a single day. Several assistants helped by stretching the skin as Petelo hammered the tattoo in place using traditional tools in his open-air home — which was a good on account of all the smoking!

Alexis’s tattoo is great work but what I’m super jealous of is that he got to play in this very fun looking free diving pool — he’s a free diving instructor! I’d love to hear his input on it, but I’m sure there’s enormous crossover between free diving and suspension and body ritual as BME covers. If you’d like to see the work on his back, continue reading.

Candice and her boyfriend Andro (who tattoos at Haunted Tattoos and Piercing in London UK, specializing in dotwork and whitework) recently travelled to Thailand and he tattooed one of the guys at the studio he was working at there… This is the amazing result!

This giant black chest bar (which I would have loved to tag aggressively) belongs to Marcell, who was tattooed by Jerson Filho at Jerson Tattoo Studio in Brasília, Brazil… I don’t know if anyone remembers, but about ten years ago there were photos in the tattoo magazines of a pretty Asian girl that had a similar tattoo across her forehead, almost like cartoon Groucho Marx eyebrows — anyone that might have a photo of that one, please post a picture of it and link it from the comment forum (and if you know why, please tell me)!
