I feel like I kind of shortchanged Biohazard the last couple times I posted him by picking unflattering pictures, so I wanted to post these two (the second is after the break) of him doing an arm pull — you can see that the “cheek ladder” he has looks pretty neat.

Dear ModBlog,
Brian in the Netherlands got his toes cut up by the girls from Dare2wear in Amsterdam, with Julia cutting the 666, and Sharon cutting the HELL… Both of them were cut simultaneously, which he describes as a “different” feeling! (Cut him some slack, it’s not as if English is his first language). Julia also did the goat-head cutting on his shin, and Ilya did the spider skin-peelings at Lab360 in Amsterdam.
Brian is also a performer, and recently did this suspension show in Maastricht, The Netherlands, assisted by Raoul and Beto… The facial hooks — my favorite part — were inspired by the movie Hellraiser (and remind me of Casshan’s shows).

File this in either the “Fakir is rolling over in his grave” or the “Some people will do anything for attention” or the “Physical comedy is much funnier in the 21st century” categories. And don’t ask me what the wet spot on the pavement is — I don’t know and I don’t want to know. Allen writes,
We are here at the Southwest Suscon hosted by Ascension. Emrys (iam:TylerDurden) and Jason (iam:jason) from ROP did the piercings — two six gauge hooks. Jimmy James (watch for his IAM page in a couple days) only pulled the car a few feet because he was tearing pretty bad. The hooks were migrating into each other… but he’s fine… he was seen riding a bike about twenty minutes later.

Here’s a shot from the first show that Mike Nub did with AMF at The Derby in LA, August 13, 2004. Since I’m sure it’s the first thing a lot of people are wondering, he lost his forearm in an industrial accident — you can read the story of what happened here. Check out his IAM page for videos of performance and more.
“I was out of the hospital in less than two weeks, my hand being replaced by phantom sensations and a stainless steel hook. I’ve since abandoned the hook, as well as any ‘hand’ attachments that came with it. To this day, I still have those sensations, even though they fade more and more as time passes. I’ve never had too much grief either over the whole ordeal… guess it didn’t make much sense to. In actuality, it has in a lot of ways made me a more complete person, a stronger man, a better individual. I’ve learned how to be more outgoing, more thoughtful and more observant. Above all, I finally learned despite everything how to feel pride, something I could never grasp, even with two hands.”
