I’ve been doing a lot of interview work and I think there must be about a dozen great interviews done and waiting to be posted right now, so I wanted to get readers’ feedback on what they’d like to see in terms of my efforts and hours — would you like to see a priority put on in-depth coverage and detailed interviews, or would you like to see more “eye candy” and short entries? Obviously there’s space for both, but I’m interested in hearing how the ratio should lie.
Anyway, in the eye candy department, this fun little upper thigh corset was self-done by Sarah at Tribal Rites in Boulder, Colorado… Even though I haven’t moved over any of the thousands of older pictures, the corset piercing gallery on BME grows so quickly!

This photo and facial corset is by Amanda Wolf, Laughing Gremlin, Grandville MI. I haven’t had a chance to move across any of the old pictures yet, but I’ve added a corset piercing gallery to BME finally and it’s where I’ll be filing all of the semi-permanent corsets (any done with jewelry basically)… Now that I’m handling all images personally again and doing BME production as a relatively single-handed project again, I’m going to be repairing a lot of things that have been needing improvement — it’s really quite exciting — so by all means feel free to contact me with suggestions.

Anna’s passions include dance and body modifications — which I see as being very similar passions in a lot of ways — and her friend Anna Powalowska documented that in a recent photo shoot. The corset (done only for these pictures) was done by Pawel at Black Star Studio in Warsaw, Poland. Her tattoo was done by her boyfriend Karol who also tattoos at Black Star.

Dear ModBlog,
My friend Steve Truitt in Albuquerque wrote me with this photo of an eight-piece microdermal corset he did on a client. The oldest one is about eight months old and the newest about half that, and they’re all doing quite well (although it seems that there was a bottom pair that got removed; I’m assuming due to pants interaction). She’s worn the slave ring ends for over a month now, and as a dancer, occasionally laces them up for work — I wonder if she gets more or less tips those nights?

Dear ModBlog,
Michelle is proof that corset piercings, done correctly, are perfectly capable of surviving into the longterm. At nine months old it’s quite well healed and looking very healthy.
It’s winter, I can’t put the rings on myself, and I’ve lost all the ribbon — excuses, excuses. I still can’t go through a good sized party in my home town (or college come to think of it) where someone doesn’t ask to see my back or tell someone else that they just need to see that metal I have. I almost always make people touch it — it makes the night just that much more fun.
I know I’m always asking people I’ve just met to touch my piercings too, but the only piercings I have are below the belt so the context is different.

Amber sent me a shot of her best friend’s upper arm corset piercing (“she was a trooper though it all — lots of squirming and ‘oh fucks’ were involved, but no tears”), which she got after losing her hip piercings the week before. They were done for the Pomona Convention, but she’s planning on babying them with the hope that she’ll be able to keep them as long as possible. Rick Anders at DV8 Tattoos and Body Piercing in Vallejo, California did them for her.

I love when photography is modification based. When the mods are done for the photo, rather than the other way around. Like these corsets done on tinaxo (photo by Stephen Ellis).

Cat had this great permanent (click for a shot showing that; it’s now four months old and doing well with no signs of rejection) corset piercing done by Jason AKA Rip who works at Addiction NYC. The piercings were done with eight surface bars using CBR beads for the lacing in photoshoots and flatback beads for day-to-day wear.
