If you didn’t notice, yesterday’s additions to the site were done in two updates. A hefty experience update followed by a site-wide image update and now an additional update of the tattoo (all for you, complainy pants!) and the scarification galleries will round out the week. Next week should mark the start of the “scheduled” updates, which will help to ease everyone here at BME into a more “normal” work week.

A big thank you to Phil, as usual, for cutting the 39,000+ image queue in half in just a few days. I don’t know how Phil manages to stay sane but he certainly is appreciated. With the dreams of a normal sleep schedule aside, Phil processes images daily to get your memberships to you but they don’t always go up on the site immediately.

Update time! We just posted 1,890 new images and 88 experiences, with our lovely cover model featuring piercings by Mirka from Warsaw, Poland.

Many thanks to Phil for his work processing images and to all the experience reviewers! Some technical difficulties on my end this week — computer issues, Internet issues … but I only had to switch ISPs once! I guess that’s a victory of sorts.

Anyway, this got posted a little later than I would have hoped, but at least it’s here, and big thanks to Jonathon for his help behind the scenes on that front.

The new image update just posted. Hey, it was only 3 gigs over my crappy cable connection. So I apologize for the delay!

There are tons of new tattoo images as well as this update should have fixed the HTML pages that weren’t displaying the new updates from the past few days. If anyone sees anything that isn’t working, please let me know. Apparently well over 1000 images have gone missing. If your tattoo submissions haven’t hit the site and you received an email, please let me know.

Phil and Jordan are out enjoying the Art Fusion Experiment at the MOCCA and we should have some updates from there coming soon. I have an insane amount of stickers, postcards, business cards and info cards for the convention to give away. I’m pretty excited about it. All I need to do is finish getting banners printed and then pick up a new seamless. So don’t forget to stop by the BME booth at NIX. I hope to see many of you there!

A nice even numbered update for you today. The beautiful resilient has graced us with her presence. I’ve been grouping the updates by type and that seems to give fairly large updates every other day. I’m hesitant to do daily updates as there is so much going on and the machine requires a fair amount of baby sitting to keep the build process going. While planning for BMEfest, I can’t really commit to that right now. The every other day mega updates seem to work out well.

I went away for the weekend. It wasn’t worth the stress and the headache of knowing I wouldn’t be updating. At least the site only had to go 3 days without a massive update. This update is full of tattoo goodness. The missing May 24th images should be resurrected by this update. Not sure what happened. It’s most likely an error in the zip file that didn’t unzip properly causing the HTML files not to be updated. The search engine on the main page is also working again.

The cover for this update is unmistakably work by Cere on MagneticDistortion. Not only is Cere BME, you are. I am. We all are. If it wasn’t for the community. Where would any of us be?

The next image update should include more work by Cere as well. Hopefully some great photos out of Texas and I know I’ll have convention coverage from NIX after the convention in the middle of June. I’m going to have a booth there which is nice. Notice the banners? If you’re in the Toronto area, hope to see you there.

The only thing I need now is a great convention banner. Anyone feeling creative?

Just popping on to say that I just added 3,128 new images and 117 new experiences on BME.

I don’t know if it’s just me but every time I see this photo (sent in from Costa Rica with piercings by Carlos David Arce Lopez.), I think it’s a tattoo. My eyes are playing tricks on me, or maybe I just wanted a reason to post a BMEboy…

Just posted 1,193 new images and 54 experiences. Thanks to Phil for processing the images and to SailorAttack for being on the cover. There are about 2000 emails in the queue and those will be caught up as quickly as possible. This image/experience update has been like a mine field. Every step forward sets something else off. The problems appear to have been sorted out and another 1000+ image update should be coming shortly. I’ll be going back to a daily update schedule, as long as the amount of submissions demand it. I’m still trying to figure out where submissions are being diverted to as there appears to be an issue with downloading them.

Recent TOS complaints have been going to an unknown abyss so please forward any TOS complaints you have to tos@bmezine.com. In the next couple of days I’m going to run through and remove all of the dead accounts (expired accounts that have not been logged into for more than a year). Deceased members generally have their accounts set to free and are not considered “expired”.

If you haven’t noticed, anyone who emailed for the last 7+ years about typos on the main page of IAM, can rest now they’ve finally been fixed. (Please NOTE this is NOT your BME password.) If anyone finds more things that need to be cleaned up, please email me at rachel@bmezine.com. The next month is going to be dedicated to cleaning up this mess until we can move forward on integrating the new update management system. It will be very cool. If you’re a nerd, who is into managing tons of data.
