Way too hot of a photo shoot for a single guy like me. Anyway, I hope everyone likes the transition over to the WordPress format. There will be some hiccups and changes over the first few weeks, but I think that it will turn out to be very nice once everything is tagged and so on.

I get a kick out of this shot of Kevin at the NYC tattoo convention wearing a human rib (as in what girls are made of a real human rib) as jewelry for his stretched septum and ear lobes. Or at least that he tells me. I just realized as I’m writing this for all I know I’m being messed with, ha.

It’s not an option permanently of course, but I love the look of this series of front corset piercings with a 3/4 lacing around the back. It’s done by Mike French at Omega Red Body Piercing in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Here’s a closeup.

Because extreme modification is so incredibly popular both with clients and in the media in general, I think people forget that while it’s often not specifically illegal, it’s definitely grey, definitely may be covered by existing laws (depdending on the nation), even if that has not yet been tested in court for anyone not doing castrations (not that there haven’t been some close calls).
I think it’s very important to share their work because it was miserable when we lived in the dark ages where everything was underground… but at the same time, I worry because people are very “out” about who is doing the work and don’t mind sharing very legally revealing photos. In the past, customers promoted cutters, but it almost seems in reverse these days?
Eh, I’m probably just being paranoid, right? Right?
Anyway, enjoy the nipple removal.

I agree! Not only should you make an exhibition of yourself, you’d better make sure that exhibition has just as many good rides as it does have nice flashy lights… Seriously, if there is one thing in life that a hundred years from now will determine if you lived a good life, it is the quality of stories that your descendents (which doesn’t have to mean your kids) tell about you and your life and friends.
Anyway, I do anticipate posting more to ModBlog tonight still, but the posting tonight is going to be sporadic because I’m testing some interface stuff still. The new site should be up and running on the weekend if not sooner (thanks to everyone who’s helping).

I’m not even that much of a fan of the show these days, but I do like this Kahn from King of the Hill tattoo, done by K at The Voodoo Needle in Auburn, AL… I see a fair chunk of tattoos from cartoon-land Springfield and Quahog, but Arlen, Texas? Not so often.

These tattoos of stitched up slashed Achilles tendons kind of squick me out, but maybe it didn’t help that I was watching Nightmare on Elm St. 3 as I was processing it (Remember, with the marionette scene? I am guessing this tattoo by Carla Hopkins at No Ka Oi Tiki in Philly could be interpreted in many ways depending on your bias and what type of encounter you hope or fear having with the objects in said pants. Cuntcumber who sends the picture says, “it’s not what it looks like, I swear!”

The tattoo is by Robert at 334 Bowery Tattoo (which Clive and I just walked past a few days ago on our travels) in NYC… and if I remember how locks work, the door here is latched, but at least open a crack, which ironically is also feels like the story of my life right now.

It’s funny, if I was a plainskin I might be freaking out over Asurfael’s very nice DIY split tongue, but I didn’t even notice it in the photo because in my mind, that’s what tongues are supposed to look like… All I can see is that nasty wound from when she accidentally bit her tongue! Ouch!
